Hudson Bay is a vibrant and friendly community of 2000 people. We are located in east-central Saskatchewan, approximately 200 miles east of Saskatoon on highway #41 and #3, and 240 miles north of Regina on highway #9. There are major airports located at both these centers. Our community is served by Via Rail and STC Bus lines. In addition we also have a large landing strip for those who want to fly in.
We have a diverse economy based on forestry, agriculture,
processing and eco-tourism. The surrounding forest supplies both
the Weyerhaeuser OSB Division and Plywood Division. The nutrient
rich soils which surround Hudson Bay have enabled farmers to produce
a wide range of crops on over 175,000 cultivated acres. Large volumes
of locally grown alfalfa enables Hudson Bay Dehydrators to process
10,000 tonnes of alfalfa pellets annually for local and export sales.
The vast tracks of untouched wilderness enable visitors to enjoy
year round recreational pursuits.
